The Association was organized July 22, 1921 and is a not-for-profit Corporation. The purpose of the organization is to promote good fellowship among its members and to provide a means for the presentation of papers, and open discussion of innovations, and challenges pertaining to the Blast Furnace and Coke Oven Industries.
Membership in the organization shall include individuals actively engaged in management, operation, construction, production, engineering, research, or sales of products and by-products of Blast Furnace and Coke Plants, and to executives affiliated with Company operating the same, as well as individuals actively engaged in the distribution of essential materials, services, and equipment used in the day to day operations of the Blast Furnace and Coke Ovens.
